CONSTITUTION  

Article I - V                                 Page 1

ARTICLE I

Name:  The name of this organization shall be the Canadian Dove Association.

ARTICLE II

Purpose:  The purpose of this organization shall be the propagation, and the promotion, presentation, and approval of standards for all varieties of doves, both domestic and foreign.

 ARTICLE III

Membership:  Any dove fancier is eligible for membership in this organization. Application is to be made to the Secretary. Dues shall be set by the membership at an Annual Meeting. Dues are payable during the month of January. After January 31st, any member in arrears will have their name automatically deleted from the membership list. A family membership will involve only one newsletter, or meeting notice per mailing, but each member of the family will be eligible to vote on Association business.

ARTICLE IV

Election of Officers: The Executive Board shall appoint a nominating committee of two members (at large) by July 1st. This committee shall interview prospective candidates for offices, and present a slate of nominees to the President by October 1st. This slate of nominees shall then be presented at the Annual Meeting, at which time additional nominations will be accepted from the floor, to be voted on by the members. Elected officers will take office immediately following the Annual Meeting.

ARTICLE V

Officers:  The officers shall be President, Secretary‑Treasurer (one Person), Past President and four Directors. They shall hold office for two consecutive years, with the privilege of re‑election for another two year term. The incumbent President will automatically take the office of Past President upon the completion of their term as President.
